What's new? (May 2001 Archives)

Tuesday May 15th, 2001: Battery Benchmark Madness!
Battery life and comparison between models is the latest trend in the small Clie world (well, after screen comparison, I guess <g>), so here we go, I've added a simple page to sum-up the results of those who accepted to run the benchmark program. It's located there, but you can find it also through the comparison page, on the battery row in the comparison table. Quick summary: PEG-N700C battery life with backlight on at minimum setting: 13h18. PEG-S500C battery life without backlight: 24h02. :-)

Monday May 14th, 2001: (Big) Site update
Added three questions to the FAQ: about accessory compatibility between old and new Clie, How to build a serial cable for the Clie, and overclocking probems. MS Mount has been updated again, and I removed a link to English explanations about how to build a serial cable (the link to http://www.mulliner.org/palm/clie.html had become dead).
Changed the header in the upper frame, replaced the text links by pictures for better horizontal and vertical spacing control. Added two new buttons, Mailing List and Localization for easier access.

Thursday May 10th, 2001: Site update
Update of the MS Mount and CRS-MeDoc version, also added CardBackup on the Software page. Created an AvantGo channel including the What's new page and a modified ("light") version of the Software page (only the version numbers).
Future project: a program to flash the Clie's ROM (PEG-S300 / PEG-S500C only right now, because I haven't a PEG-N700C or PEG-N710C to do the testing (if you've got a spare 700 or 710 for me... ;-)
Cleaned the news page, including an archive of "old" news sorted by year and month.
