ROM Transfer Extension | Download ROM Transfer Extension (4 Kb) |
Version: 3.3a | Interface: Documentation: |
Very useful for anyone wishing to use the ROM image of his/her Clie,
either to modify it (expert hackers only!) or to use it with the Clie
emulator available from Sony's
developer Site. This programs copy the ROM image either on the MemoryStick
(you'll then need a MemoryStick adapter/reader to get the file on your
computer) or directly to the Computer via a serial link (requires a serial
cable/cradle). |

Fireviewer | Download FireViewer Suite (FireViewer v6.0) (3,9 Mb) |
Version: 6.0 | Interface: Documentation: |
FireViewer is an excellent freeware picture / video viewer, supporting zooming and scrolling, color pictures and videos (no sound though) on any PalmOS PDA. In its latest version, FireViewer supports the MemoryStick. Warning, if you want to store pictures or videos on the MemoryStick, you first need to put them in RAM (with a hotsync) then move them on the MemoryStick BEFORE running FireViewer again, otherwise it will merge the new pictures / videos with the existing ones in its RAM databases, and you won't be able to move them to the MemoryStick anymore! | |

JackSprat | No evaluation version available |
Version: 2.0b12 | Interface: Documentation: |
JackSprat lets you remove unwanted files from the ROM of your Clié.
The primary use of this program was to remove the languages files that
you do not use on the European multi-lingual (English / French / German)
devices. Recent versions let you also remove other files from the ROM
(like the sample pictures or applications you decide to remove completely
or replace by third party applications). Beware, removing some files can
be potentially dangerous, make sure you perform a backup of your ROM first,
and save that backup in a safe place (i.e. burn a CD and make sure it's
readable) in case you later need to restore the original OS!!! The chances to see an OS5 Clié-compatible version of JackSprat are close to zero, unless you know how to boot into the Small ROM debugger on those devices, in which case please contact Brayder ASAP! ;-) |
