What's new? (July 2001 Archives)

Monday, july 23rd, 2001: Yet another new Clie!
Sony announced the release of the PEG-N600C which will be available for purchase from august 4th, 2001 (pre-order start on july 27th, 2001). This model is the Japanese equivalent of the PEG-N610C which should be released at the beginning of august 2001 in the USA, i.e. it's a PEG-N700C without MP3/ATRAC3 player functions, and with a native 65535 colors display (still in 320x320) thanks to PalmOS version 4.0.
Also, note that PowerRun has reach a mature state with the 1.0 version release. It's now available as a shareware on PalmGear. If you use PowerRun, don't forget to register and pay to the author the requested 15 US$, which seems to me more than honestly earned! For those who love to live on the razor edge, the latest beta version is 1.1b1... ;-)

Wednesday July 11th, 2001: JackFlash v2.2 now officially supports the Clie devices!
Brayder, JackFlash's editor, just released the 2.2 version which now officially runs on the Clie devices! We'll be able (at last!) to fill the unused ROM portion with our favorite applications, thus freeing some precious Kb of RAM! Beside that important release, note that MSMount and PowerRun authors have as usual released new versions of these must-have utilities...
